Dynamic DIY idea for Dancing Pixies

Do-it-yourself- Pink clay pot tower

The colourful Dancing Pixies^® mix up the shady side of autumn with their pretty little flowers.

In keeping with their grace, we gave the cheeky “autumn fairies” an appearance with this DIY idea that does justice to their cheerful nature. In the seemingly swaying pot tower, the Saxifraga cortusifolia actually almost look as if they are dancing. But don't worry, we reveal the stable base for the dynamic plant tower and the solid houseleek is a safe choice as a companion plant.

Here's what you need:

4 different clay pots
Soil, shovel, waterproof paint & brush for clay pot
3x Dancing Pixies in pink
A thick, stable branch, stones
Small companions e.g. Sedum and Sempervivum

Step 1

Paint the clay pots any colour you like. Fix the branch - this should be as straight and stable as possible - with stones in the largest pot. The weight of the stones also helps to give the tower a secure footing. Then fill with soil.

Step 2

Thread the pots onto the branch according to size and fill them with soil. The second pot can be placed up to a third into the bottom pot. The following ones are allowed to balance on the edge of the previous one.

Step 3

Now the first Dancing Pixie^® and its companion plants can move into the bottom pot. It is planted directly next to the second pot and towers over the Sempervivum and Sedum placed in front of it.

Step 4

Then the next pot can be filled with soil. When aligning the pots, the result will be most beautiful if you take care not to give in to your inner sense of order, because if the pots are aligned straight, the clay pot tower lacks charm.

Step 5

After the next Dancing Pixie^® has taken its place in the second pot, the game continues in the same way with pots three and four. Don't forget: crooked is beautiful!
