Do-it-yourself pink earthenware pot tower

The colourful Dancing Pixies^® really jazz up the shady sides of autumn with their beautiful little flowers.

Making allowance for their grace, we put the cheeky autumnal fairies on a stage that does justice to their jolly nature. In the seemingly swaying pot tower, the Saxifraga cortusifolia virtually appear to be dancing. No worries! We'll let you in on the secret of the sound substructure to the dynamic-looking plant tower. Also, the strong house leek is a safe choice as a companion plant.

Here's what you need:

4 different earthenware pots
soil, rocks, paint and brush for the earthenware pot as needed
3x pink-coloured Dancing Pixies
one thick sturdy branch
low-growing companion plants, e.g. stonecrop and house leek

Step 1

First, secure the branch – it should be as straight and sturdy as possible – with rocks in the largest pot. The weight of the rocks will also help to give the tower a safe stand. Fill pot with soil mix.

Step 2

Thread one pot after the other, starting with the largest one and ending with the smallest, onto the branch, fill with soil and plant. The second largest pot can be immersed up to 1/3 deep into the bottom pot. Each of the following pots can balance on the rim of their predecessors.

Step 3

The first Dancing Pixies^® plant can now move in the bottom pot, together with its accompanying plants. Plant it immediately next to the second pot so that it towers above the house leek and stonecrop planted in the front.

Step 4

Then fill the next pot with soil. When aligning the pots, you get the most beautiful arrangement if you resist yielding to your sense of order, because with pots aligned in a straight line, the arrangement will lack charm.

Step 5

Once the next Dancing Pixies^® has taken its place in the second pot, proceed as described above with the third and fourth pot. New motto: crooked is beautiful!
