Do-it-yourself wood slice planting

Rustic untreated wood slices are currently very popular as coasters, seats for furniture, ring cushions for weddings or as novel wall decorations. They should be dried before using them. Once dry, they can be treated with oil to increase their durability.

A very special highlight on terraces and balconies: planted slices of tree trunks!

two slices of wood, potting soil, black film, cord, Dancing Pixies, stonecrop, prickly heath, shrubby veronica, moss, scissors, wire
Step 1 Step 1

Put the two wood slices in an upright position opposite each other, insert black film between them and make film into a bag. Remove Dancing Pixies from the pot, place pot between the wood slices as a placeholder and fix wood slices with cord.
Step 2 Step 2

Remove the pot. Staple the film bag to the wood slices as desired. Fill bag with soil mix.
Step 3 Step 3

Plant Dancing Pixies in the top part between the wood slices. Then plant the best buddies in the lower parts.
Step 4 Step 4

Cover the black film with moss and fix with wire. Finished! Remember to water the plants.
