Do-it-yourself wine crate

Old wine or fruit crates make wonderful autumn decorations on balconies and terraces! They can be used as tables or frames for small pot plants and can also be planted directly with autumn perennials. #upcycling

I add brightness to the colours of autumn and cheer bare corners with my best buddies for outdoors.

wooden crate lined with poly film, potting soil, two Dancing Pixies, four best buddies, root wood
Step 1 Step 1

Fill the wine crate 2/3 with soil mix and cut a few holes into the poly film. Remove the plants from their pots and place into the soil mix. Fill gaps with soil mix.
Step 2 Step 2

Tamp down soil lightly and position root wood between the plants. Place in a shaded spot on the balcony or terrace. Remember to water the plants.
